Palmer United Party Senator Jacqui Lambie proposed a levy placing higher tax on “big banks” to solve Liberal’s “bad” Budget last night.
“I haven’t actually spoken to Clive Palmer about it,” Ms Lambie said to Sarah Ferguson in a 7.30 report interview.
Ms Lambie said she would place a “tight” legislation to ensure the tax is not passed down to consumers.
“The big banks that are making all these profits will be paying more into the country,” Ms Lambie said.
Ms Lambie doubts “young gun” Joe Hockey knows what he is doing with the Australian budget.
“Joe Hockey and Tony Abbott are nothing less than a pair of deceitful, lying politicians running around like chooks with their heads cut off,” Ms Lambie said.
“I just do not think that brings in a good budget.”
